I decided I had to watch Assignment #1 again last night because it was clear I didn't remember a damn thing about it if I couldn't even recall who Lead was. Watching it again, it became clear why I didn't remember it. I didn't really like it much. Sapphire was very different in that serial from who she is in the others and I like her WAY better from Assignment #2 onward. Anyway, that's not the point of this post.

The point of this post is Joanna Lumley. I first became aware of her as Patsy on AbFab. What I didn't realize then was how much of a departure comedy was for her. How much of a re-invention. I never knew she'd started out as a model and an action hottie girl. So seeing her on S&S is so f-ing cool. And it also made me want to hunt down a million pics of her.

I'm a horrible person, because since I first saw her in S&S, I always thought she looked very much like a man in drag. >_> Not that that's . . . a bad thing, and she's a very pretty man in drag, but a man in drag never the less.

I like her a lot in that brunette shot, though. I should watch the rest of S&S someday, I guess. I've just seen half of Assignment #1 and the two with Silver.

No, not horrible. I can definitely see that. She's got very strong, masculine-type features. I mean, she totally played that up as Patsy, so I don't think even she would be offended by the idea. ;-)

As for S&S, I don't know. You and I seem to have opposite taste even about things we agree on, so you'll probably hate all the eps I love. :-P

I think she looks much nicer in a lot of these pictures than she does as Sapphire, which I think is a bit weird, since I think Sapphire is meant to be so glam. Ah well. I like it, really. I like that she's the badass one and Steel is sort of the floppy one sometimes.

Do we usually have opposite tastes in everything we agree on? I mean, we both agree Colin Baker is the shit and has a voice for dying, right? I don't do audio dramas, but I'm sure if I did I'd love them . . . ahahaha.

I just need to drag you into Blake's 7 next. After Who and S&S its like a requirement for Old British Scifi.

It's definitely hit and miss with Sapphire. I love her hair and outfit in some of the serials and totally hate it in others.

It's all in the details, darling. ;-) We both love TOS, but you are a Spock/McCoy guy and I dig Kirk/Spock. That kind of thing.

And yes. B7 is totally next. Especially now that I know there were some audios done after the series ended!

I don't even have a Spock/McCoy icon! LOL Now I am wondering how you came up with that at all. I can't seem to convince babel that I even like Spock/McCoy, even though I think they're quite fun. She assumes I just say it to please her, hahahaha. Ah well. It's really all about Kirk/McCoy.


Just take B7 in smaller doses. Each season is only 13 episodes, which is like, you know, new Who. (But vastly better, of course.) If you just think about getting through the first 13 though, it's a bit easier of a prospect. I hope you like it. It has rough patches in places, but I think some of the plot twists will just blow your socks off.

I shall! I really, really shall. I just need to be inspired. It took me ages to get around to watching S&S, but I did in the end. And now I'm obsessed. B7s time will come. And then I'll probably be groaning about how there wasn't ENOUGH of it. So...I'm nothing if not fickle.

Ahahah, yeah, I do understand. I had B7 for ages before I watched it, and then I devoured it all in like a month. It was pretty damn epic. Let's see, inspiration. Well, Colin Baker is in one episode! And Brian Blessed! And the guy who plays Silver! I'm sad Servalan and Travis don't show up until ep. 6, 'cause I think you'll enjoy them, but. I dunno.

I'm the same way, really. I'll resist and resist and then go batshit over it when I finally get around to it. XD
