That's it. I've had it with being grumpy fan. I learned a long time ago that if fandom wasn't fun it was a waste of my time and I'm sad that over the last few days I've kinda forgotten that lesson. So, to remind myself why I spend so much of my time obsessing over Doctor Who, and why that time is NOT a waste, I've decided to do a picspam. Why? Because picspams bring my insane amounts of joy. I've already done a bunch of Who-related picspams, so I decided to try something a little different this time. I wanted to find a pic of every single companion (book companions excepted, for obvious reasons) that was (1) not a screencap; (2) not Who-promo related; and (3) that I think really captures what I love about the actor and the character they play. I've done my best, but obviously some were a lot easier than others. Hopefully you haven't seen all of these before. And if you have any pics you like better, SHARE!

How GORGEOUS was she?!

A trench coat, a cup of tea, and a prop weapon. This pic cracks me up.

Sadly, this was the only cool pic I could find of Adrienne Hill.

Jean Marsh aged SO well. That seems to be a common trait for ex-companions. Check out Maureen O'Brien:

I'm pretty sure this one is Who-promo related, but she looks so pretty in it I couldn't resist.

Man, I ♥ this pic. The colors, the composition, her expression, everything.

I really don't think I need to say anything about this pic. It's one of my all-time favorites.

How ridiculously adorable is she?!?!

What a sweet little muffin she was.

I luuuuuuuuuuuuv this pic. She looks so genuinely happy in it. It makes me smile every time I look at it.

Anyone have other candid pics of Ian Marter?

So striking.

Did you really think I would leave out my most favorite companion of them all?! :-)

There were SO many gorgeous pic of her to choose from, but I think this is my favorite. The outfit rocks.

This KILLS me! She's SOOOOOOOOOOO young!!!

(This one's for you, Van.)

I couldn't resist this one, either. She looks so genuinely happy and beautiful.

HOT!!!

I wanted a pic of her where that wasn't a sexpot shot. I think this one works.

My main woman.

I can't believe how different she looks with her hair shorter. I like it!

I am convinced this woman bathes in the blood of virgins. There is no other explanation for this.

I...got nothin'.

Lisa Bowerman is one HELL of a hard woman to find photos of. Supposedly she will be attending one of the cons I am going to this year, which would be awesome. I'll definitely have to get some pics of my own.

I honestly can't stand Daphne Ashbrook, but I must admit this pic is just perfect. She looks so fresh-faced and pretty.

India's got eyes like a chibi. It's absurd.

This one cracks me up. It seems so random!

Another one I had a lot of trouble choosing. She looks so forced or uncomfortable in so many of her posed shoots. In this pic, though, I think she looks genuinely happy. And that makes her 100 times sexier.

I fully support this trend of male companions taking it all off. FULLY support.

Say what you will, I love Jack. And I think Barrowman takes a DAMN fine photo.

Holy. HELL.

I've seen a bunch of other shots from this set, but this one's my favorite. She looks so happy and confident. Very sexy.

So, there you have it. Companions kick ASS and I love them all. Yeah, even Adric and Grace. What can I say? I'm easy. And the Doctor has damn good taste. ;-)

YAAAAY! I love you so much right now for this. I just ADORE that picture of Wendy (and let's not mention superstar!Frazer *swoons*).

And wow, Jackie Hill! She's almost unrecognizable there.

And yeah, it's a real bitch trying to find good pictures of Adrienne Hill. Some time ago I went picture-searching for my [livejournal.com profile] loves_them_all tribute to Katarina (which I need to finish asap *kicks self*) and it was a complete nightmare. Luckily now that I have the surviving footage from her tenure in Doctor Who I'll be able to take some good screencaps.

It was also really weird because she looked SOOO much like Maureen O'Brien in a lot of the B&Ws. I had to check a few sources to be sure that was even her. I'm VERY much looking forward to seeing your Katarina post. Especially the screenshots. I've only ever heard the recons for that serial.

Really? In my case, I occasionally mistook Maureen O'Brien and Jean Marsh in some pictures. When the two of them appeared together in The Crusade, after Princess Joanna gave Vicki a makeover, they looked so much like sisters it was eerie.

I'll try and rush things, then. I'm currently working on an episode-by-episode biography of her, and will try and get some screencaps from the Lost in Time DVD afterwards - hopefully some with Katarina and Bret Vyon together, so that people can also see the Pre-Brig.

I've only ever heard the recons for that serial.
There's a clip with her death scene on YouTube, which I think is the only Katarina clip there. I'll be adding it to the tribute post, but I can give you the link now if you want to see it.

That would be SO COOL. Whatever you end up doing I know the post will end up being awesome and epic if only because barely any footage remains of her. Having a ep-by-ep would be INCREDIBLY helpful and fabulous.

I'll be adding it to the tribute post, but I can give you the link now if you want to see it.

That would be wonderful! Thank you!

Here it is, then. The maker mixed a few media so that we could get the feel of the whole scene since what we have ends rather abruptly.

And since I also have it bookmarked, here's a fake next time trailer for Day of Armageddon, her only surviving episode, and the only other clip I can find with her.

I love those fake trailers. They are always so great and that one was no exception. It got me all excited! I need to go back and watch/listen to the recons of that serial again.
