HELP ME, FLISTIES!!!

I just got the most awesome news today at work. They are sending me to Anchorage, Alaska to conduct training!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm leaving on March 23 and returning on March 29. I am so excited I don't even know what to do with myself.

But, here is the question for you all. Does anyone know anyone who knows anyone who knows someone in Anchorage that would be interested in meeting up for some drinking? The only downside of doing these business trips alone is not being able to experience any of the nightlife. I'd LOVE to go out on the town one night. So, what do you say? Got anyone you could hook me up with in the frozen north?

Wow - that sounds brilliant!

The only person I know who's lived in Anchorage was a professor of mine, and he loved the place so much he's planning on retiring there. Alas, he's back here now, and he's ridiculously young so he probably won't be retired by March 23rd. ;)

People really do seem to fall in love with Alaska, don't they? I was there on a cruise some years back and I've been dreaming of returning ever since. It's just so magical! Although, it's quite possible that the March weather could turn me off to the whole idea. ;-)

Crazily enough, I just heard back from one of my many cousins and he put me in touch with a woman he used to work with who now lives in Anchorage. I'm floored. It just seems so unlikely! But I feel even more exicted about the trip now knowing that I will have a local guide. This is just insane. Hopefully I'll have some good pics to share when I get back.
