1. I love reading books about plagues. Historical plagues, current highly contagious viruses, fictional potential epidemics, it's all good. I even enjoy looking at the CDC website.
2. I absolutely love sheep. Not in any illegal or immoral sense, mind you. I just think they are the cutest animals on earth and I have a million stuffed sheep and pictures of sheep being adorable. I even went to the Maryland sheep and wool festival last summer so I could check out all the different breeds. SO CUTE!!!
3. I would do anything to meet aliens. I think I would even trade my life for the opportunity to actually meet and touch a sentient life form from another planet.
4. I can't stand the texture of raw apples, but I love cooked apples just about any way they can be prepared. Apples and pears are the only fruits I won't eat raw.
5. When I was traveling around Europe by myself after college, I spent a week in Slovenia where I didn't speak to a single human being because no one spoke English. I communicated completely through gestures and pointing at things. It was one of the most bizarre, but oddly freeing experiences I've ever had.
6. I secretly enjoy going to the dentist. Something about the position and the discomfort...I should probably stop there. ;-)
7. I volunteered at the invertebrate house at the zoo in order to get over my paralyzing fear of bugs. It worked. Now I'm totally cool with them and actually love holding the giant millipede. The only bugs I don't want to hold are the cockroaches because I still can't stand the way their feet feel. But I'm kind of ok with not holding a roach.

I actually once decided to draw (dead) bugs to a Really magnified size
Now THAT sounds horrific. One of the most terrifying things I've ever seen is the gigantic magnified mesquito on display at the Natual History Museum in NYC. Makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.
