Yup. It's that time again. Time for me to become obsessed with something new and slightly random. In this case, it's Batwoman. I've been having a comic book renaissance of sorts, devouring anything and everything written by Gail Simone, most specifically. But then I started branching out. Batwoman is one of those branches. I got my hands on her run in Detective Comics, and now I can NOT STOP THINKING ABOUT HER.

She is utterly, utterly awesome. Hot, and bad ass, and has great taste in both uniforms and women. I LOVE HER.

I'm going to read 52 as soon as possible so I can have more Kate Kane in my life. Not to mention more Renee Montoya, because the Question? FABULOUS.

Is there anyone here who digs Batwoman? ANYONE? I have all this love and no where to direct it.

ETA: EEEEEEEE! She IS getting her own series! Starting in July. I am so thrilled I don't know what to do with myself!!!

Sadly, NO! They broke up. But Kate is clearly still in love with Renee so I'm holding out hope that they get back together eventually. They are just so yummy together! Meanwhile, have you read the Rucka run of Detective Comics? Because it is SO GOOD. The art is amazing and the story is cool as shit.

*raises hand* Granted, I haven't started reading her comics yet, but she was dating Renee Montoya in 52 and since I loved Renee Montoya something fierce in Batman: The Animated Series any girlfriend of hers is someone I want to read more about. Regale me with tales of her fabulousness!

(Also, just before I got back from school I picked up two Birds of Prey back issues at the comic shop, and so soon as I unpack them I;m looking forward to reading them. So you've already made a convert to one series out of me. :D)

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I'm going to have to put up another post tonight. Keep an eye out for it. ::ahem::

Meanwhile, BoP is the finest damn comic series ever written. Particularly the Gail Simone run. Because she is a goddess.

I don't think the comics I got were written by Gail Simone (which is a shame, because I love basically everything Simone has ever touched), but I do remember that the cover of one of them involved Barbara and Dinah driving through Europe while assassins crawled out of every archway trying to kill them - and merrily driving around them. That cannot possibly end badly.

Oh, the whole series is awesome. Seriously. I love it from beginning to end. But Gail's run is definitely the high-point. Hopefully you'll be able to find them all...somewhere. ;-)
