Halloween Help?

Ok. So I realize that Hurricane Who takes place over Halloween. Which means that even though I don't usually cosplay at cons, I have to dress up this year.

So, I'm going as a member of the Happiness Patrol.

I've got the wig and the shoes covered. But I am having HELLLLLLA problems finding a cheap trench coat that would work. Does anyone have any suggestions where I could search that I haven't already?

Ah, this probably isn't going to help but penwiper337 went as a Happiness Patrol person for DragonCon this year though I think she sewed her outfit from scratch.

Maybe you could modify a bathrobe? this one's still expensive but you get the idea...

Hey, penwiper337 gives some tips for the coat in the comments here. She didn't use a specific pattern but suggests a kimono pattern and a crazy collar stolen from an 80's jacket.
