New Heroes Recs!

Because it appears I am completely incapable of having more than one fandom obsession at a time, and Heroes has totally taken over my life, I bring you some new story recs. Some of these are older, some just recently posted, and all are fucking fantastic.



But before we begin, you must go read this story. If you haven't already, RUN do not walk. It will blow your friggin' mind.

Welcome to Copy Kingdom by entangled_now (Bennet/Haitian)

It is amazingly perfect in every possible way. It's so hot it set my eyeballs on fire, and she has absolutely NAILED the voices. Honestly. One of the greatest things I've ever read on the internet. It pwns me.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, here is some other fabulous work:

Screw Prince Charming by technosage (Peter/Nikki, Peter/Nathan implied)

Allie wrote this as part of a first kiss meme, but it turned into an amazing story. Set in the 5YG-verse, it's full of so much anger and pain and aggression...it's brilliant. I absolutely LOVE this story. My favorite bit?

"Fuck you, Petrelli," she finally swears at him and Nathan both, because she can't remember her husband's hands on her skin.

"Sure." Then he's at the edge of his stool, leaning in to trap her between his hands, his chest and the bar. Her heart pounds like nightmares and coat closet quickies, and he can almost taste his brother. "When I find his daughter, I'll introduce you. You can make it a hat trick."

EEEEEEEEEEE!!! So. Fucking. Awesome.

Heartless by mmmchelle (Hiro/Peter)

This is another 5YG-verse story and, therefore, also filled with a ton of pain and longing. Although it's technically a Hiro/Peter fic, it's really a story about Hiro and Ando, and about the man Hiro's regret turned him into. Beautiful stuff.

What Remains Unseen by poisontaster (Claude/Peter)

This is, without a doubt, the hottest C/P story IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE. I dare you to find another Claude/Peter story that's hotter. Seriously. I dare you. This piece will melt your computer screen.

Under the Skin by entangled_now (Claude/Nathan)

Yeah. You read that right. This is Claude/Nathan porn. I shit you not. It is also unbelievably violent and angry and hot as fucking hell. An absolute MUST READ. I think it might actually be one of my favorite stories in the fandom.

Distrait by 1001cranes (Nathan/Peter)

Another of my personal favorites. A heartwrenching character study of Nathan and what Peter means to him. Truly gorgeous.

Eye of the Beholder by ilsaluvsrick (Matt/Mohinder)

This crazy ass pairing is quickly becoming one of my fanfiction happy places. They are just so damn adorable, I can't help myself! This is one of the best pieces I've read so far, hilarious and insightful and adorable and perfect.

sometimes (I wish) by 1001cranes (Matt/Mohinder)

The quintessential Matt/Mohinder first time story. The Matt voice is particularly excellent, and I just love this piece more than I can say.

Now for a couple of cracktastic pieces that are made of win:

Wanted: One Fucking Miracle Worker by hackthis (Entrouage/RPS/Heroes/Burn Notice)

George Clooney sends Ari Gold to find Peter and force Nathan to get his shit together. Yup, it's GENIUS.

Implosion by greatwhitesnark (Unrequited Lyle/Ted)

The single most cracktastically kick-ass drabble of all time. I promise.

And finally, a few incredible gen stories:

Her Father's Daughter by grlnamedlucifer (Kimiko)

I can't begin to describe how magnificent this story is. The author has taken Kimiko and given her life and depth and strength and turned her into a whole person. An amazing person. It's everything I would wish for her but know we will never actually see on screen. After reading this, I don't really mind, though, because I think we all know that there is no way Tim Kring could write a woman character half this well.

Trioditis by selenak (Claire)

I've become a huge fan of Selena's work recently and this story is an excellent example of why. She has a gift for character studies that is pretty much unmatched in the fandom and this one of Claire really got to me. A quietly powerful look at her relationships with the various women in her life.

Movie Buffs by selenak (Petrelli Family)

Last, but certainly not least, another powerful character study by Selena. This time she takes on the entire Petrelli clan.
