Sticking with the theme, I'm putting them in alphabetical order:
Jalapenos . I love my food hot. The hotter the better. I buy hot local hot sauces as souvenirs when I travel and I add hot peppers to pretty much everything I cook. As I've always said, I like my food to fight back.
Japanese Horror Movies . Well, all asian horror movies, really. There are some amazing movies coming out of South Korea as well. I am a huge horror movie fan, but not at all impressed with the torture porn that Hollywood's been giving us lately. The asian directors are doing FAR more interesting psychological horror (and I don't mean all the Ringu and Ju-On knock-offs) and blending horror with action and humor...just fabulous stuff. If you haven't seen any of Takashi Miike's movies PUT THEM ON YOUR QUEUE ASAP. Particularly Audition and Visitor Q ( Gozu is also excellent and Happiness of the Katakuris is one of the best things I've ever seen, but it's not horror). His movies are just unbelievably brilliant. I also highly recommend the Korean film Lady Vengeance .
Jasmine . My mother's favorite scent. She's always wears perfumes that are jasmine based and so whenever I smell jasmine it makes me feel good. I'm also a huge tea drinker, and jasmine teas are some of the best.
Jellyfish . I am completely serious. I LOVE jellyfish. Watching them undulate is one of the most mesmerizing, relaxing things I can imagine. The way they phosphoresce in rainbow colors, floating in the water currents, I seriously love them. If I could have a tank full of tiny jellyfish in my house I'd probably be the calmest person ever.
Jeopardy . Not the gameshow, the hazard of exposure to bodily harm. I'm sort of a closet adrenaline junkie and I really do love the feeling of taking a risk. Not a mindless risk, I'm not an idiot. But I'm always the first one off the boat, ya know?
Jewelry . I admit it. I'm a total girl about jewelry. I took one of my best friends to see the Hope Diamond exhibit at the Natural History Museum and she was thoroughly unimpressed. She preferred all the minerals and uncut gems to the jewels. I was floored. I could honestly stare at the Hope diamond, or any of the colored diamonds they have on display, for hours. The way they sparkle...shit. I can understand why they have held such fascination for so many throughout history.
Jim-Jams . I love calling pajamas jim-jams. I think because of the Doctor Who ep. Seriously, though, I spend half my life in pajamas. The second I get home, the clothes are off and the jammies come on. My friends and family can't figure out how I do it. It's like before they can even take their coat off, I'm in my pajamas. I can spend entire weekends in pjs. I couldn't live without them.
Joints . Of course, now that I am a responsible adult I don't smoke weed anymore. ::cough:: But when I did I was a master joint roller. Seriously. I could roll them perfectly ANYWHERE. In a moving car, in the dark, I was the always the go-to girl. Those were the days...
Jungles . I am a huge fan of the jungle. Rainforests, cloud forests, straight-up jungle habitats, all of it. The greatest concentrations of life on earth, it's like stepping back in time to be in one. Always something new to discover, the smells of earth and life and wildness. Magnificent in every way.
And finally, the one you've all been waiting for. The obvious J entry:
