I'm going all chicks on this one.
1) Alex Drake, Ashes to Ashes
I fell head-over-heels in love with Ashes to Ashes because of Alex. She's insane, she drinks to much, she sleeps around, she looks amazing in early 80s fashions, and she has some SERIOUS Electra-complex issues on display. And I adore her in every possible way. I might even go so far as to say she's one of my favorite characters of all time.
2) Angela Petrelli, Heroes
Bad. Ass. The Petrellis are the reason I watch Heroes and Angela is a major reason why I love the Petrellis enough to keep watching despite the decline in quality and the endless boring ass storylines about Sylar and a million other characters I couldn't give 2 shits about. She is AMAZING. Sexy and powerful and so damn calculating and manipulative. I never get tired of watching her be evil. If she doesn't get more scenes with Claire this season I will be crushed.
3) Ace, Doctor Who
Do I really need to tell anyone on my flist what is so brilliant about Ace? Daleks, baseball bat, nitro-9, be still my heart.
4) Anita Blake, Laurell K. Hamilton series
This was my favorite book series of all time until it turned into incredibly boring furry porn. Sure I still buy them in hardcover the day they come out. I never said I wasn't weak. But up through Narcissus in Chains(my favorite) I worshipped these books. I've read them a million times and I never get tired of them. No matter how much I want to smack the shit out of Anita sometimes for being SO FUCKING STUBBORN, or for not just breaking things off completely with Richard (who I loathe), or for taking so damn long to trust Jean-Claude. The last few books are better forgotten (I mean how can anyone write sex scenes with vampires and were-creatures and have it be so fucking vanilla?!), but I'll never stop loving Anita.
5) Aeryn Sun, Farscape
She was never my favorite character on Farscape, that title will always be reserved for Zhaan. But Aeryn did kick massive amounts of ass and Claudia Black was magnificent in the role. My absolute favorite Aeryn moment in the entire series took place during the episode The Choice. She's drunk and grieving for John and she gets Crais down on his knees in the hallway and confronts him about his feelings for her. Fuck. That scene was so raw and so emotionally powerful and Claudia just knocked it out of the park. I never loved Aeryn more than I did in that one moment.
