Ok. I've run out of shows to watch again! I'm hoping you all might have some suggestions. Here are the series I've watched recently (or rewatch ad nauseum) and maybe some of you have seen something excellent I've missed?

Doctor Who
Spooks
Wire in the Blood
Luther
Kingdom
The Hour
The Fixer
Waking the Dead
Scott & Bailey
The Fades
Thick of It
Sherlock
Jekyll
Whitehall
Ultraviolet

I tried but didn't like: Touching Evil, Being Human, Fortysomething, and Survivors. And I hated Outcasts. What a fucking WASTE of talent.

Have I skipped something awesome? HELP! HELP!

THE THICK OF IT. OH MY GOOOOOOD. BEST POLITICAL SHOW I'VE EVER SEEN.

Sherlock was pretty fun. I had a pretty massive "Sherlock is way less intelligent than me" roadblock issue in the first episode, but once you accept that part of the fun is that you're smarter than Sherlock Holmes, it's got great characterizations and great lines.

Haven't you, like, already seen Doctor Who? What are your gaps, so I could inform you more knowledgeably?

I miss you.

...ok so I misread and thought those were the shows you were considering. Well, at least now we can debate. I'll try to think of new things. *shame*

Hee! Yes. Those are the shows I've watched recently. I need MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE! I hate running out of good telly.

And you're right. The Thick of It is one of the best shows EVER. I've watched all the eps so many times I have mot of it memorized. ::blushes::

Merlin? QI?

As long as you're looking for new stuff, may I recommend COMMUNITY. In a shrill, relentlessly obsessive voice. You can explore most of my recent posts for items that might entice you.

The Thick of It was supposed to be back this year. I HAVE BEEN WAITING ALL YEAR. WHERE IS IT.

People on my flist/dwircle/timeline keep blathering about Misfits - no idea if it's any good though.

Also, (Inspector) Lewis. (I think they're working on a new season right now.)

I'm not a fantasy girl but I've grown to love Stephen Fry so maybe I'll give QI a shot. Thanks, Vann.

Yeah, I've been hearing quite a lot about Misfits too. I don't usually dig shows about teens but I think I'm gonna give is a shot anyway. Thanks!

Now they're saying it's not gonna start filming until 2012. WHY GOD WHYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!?!

In which case, also try Skins (at least the first two seasons, which is all I've seen) -- it's apparently Misfits (which I haven't seen) sans the sci-fi element. I don't really go for teen stuff either, but I liked it for what it lacked in the overdramatizing their issues into something soap operatic and just letting them be crazy and funny and young.

Yeah, I've also heard good things about Skins. You are making a good cause for giving them a shot. :)

It's not normally my type of thing, but I loved Case Histories (er, possibly mostly due to Jason Isaacs) which was on earlier this year.

Have you tried the proper original Survivors? Its first season I love like pie and Abby Grant, PROPER Abby Grant is one of my favourite sci-fi heroes.

And I hated Outcasts. What a fucking WASTE of talent.

SO MUCH. And my requirements for a BBC show with spaceships are SO LOW. AND YET SOMEHOW THEY FAILED THEM.

Ooooo! I hadn't heard of Case Histories! I'll definitely give it a shot (especially since an actress gets second billing which is always a good sign).

Haven't seen the original Survivors, either. Let me go investigate...

As for Outcasts, it makes me want to cry because HERMIONE. I live for her. I will watch anything she's in. PLUS, Ben Richards did an amazing job with The Fixer and his Spooks stuff is some of the best. He needs to NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER attempt to do scifi again or I swear to god I'll go to the UK, track him down, and slap him in the face.

(especially since an actress gets second billing which is always a good sign).

The books that its based on were recced to me on the basis that they had a lot of interesting female characters, and I think that comes through on the telly.

As for Outcasts, it makes me want to cry because HERMIONE. I live for her. I will watch anything she's in.

QUITE. When she can't even save her scenes, let alone the show, THERE IS SOMETHING V WRONG.

OH HARRY HELLO HARRY ILU.

Primeval?

I started with season 3 and as a result, I don't much like 1 and 2 but I know some people prefer them. It is a silly show but there are dinosaurs.

I don't think they're exactly teens. My guess is that they're early twenties. And this is definitely not a 'teen' show.

Primeval is also kind of awesome. Did you ever see Syfy's (or was it Scifi at the time) Alice miniseries? Hatter from that show is one of the few cast members that stays for the entire series.

Yeah, they are early 20s in juvie. Definitely well below the age of people I generally watch shows about but I'll check out the first ep and see if I can get into it. The premise sounds cool.

Pssst. Would you happen to know where a person who isn't in the UK might be able to watch this Case Histories you speak of? Maybe?

I've heard SO MANY good things about Downton Abbey. I may be forced to check it out.

IT IS WORTHY OF THE GOOD THINGS SAID.

I was SOO close to not watching it - my mum convinced me of all people. All I will say about it (without being too spoilery) is period costume, GORGEOUS house, awesome writing, fabulous characters and relationship, fan-service and DAME MAGGIE SMITH.
