Star Trek in Vegas.

Ok, people. My friends have all flaked out on me and I am, as vandonovan put it, feeling extremely emosad about this. I had plans to attend the Vegas Star Trek convention and now I don't know what to do. I have ALWAYS dreamed of going to Quark's bar and getting shitfaced, in costume, with a bunch of other drunk Trekkies in costume. And considering the Experience is closing down in September, THIS IS MY LAST CHANCE. I can't live with the idea of missing out on my dream. Not like this.

So, here's the question. I have no problem flying to Vegas by myself for a couple of days, but only if I know I'll at least be able to hang out with some people I "know" at the con. ARE ANY OF YOU GOING TO BE THERE? And do you like to drink?

COME ON, FLISTIES! Help a desperate Trekkie out. I can't do this without you. (Because my RL friends apparently SUCK ASS.)

Want the good news? One of my most excellent cousins has GRACIOUSLY agreed to hang with me in Vegas. I bought my ticket today. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! So, I will be there. I am still hoping to hook up with some LJ peeps, though, because he is definitely not a trekkie. And yes! In costume! I am so excited I could die!

But I still can't figure out what in the sam hell is going on with Jumpcon. They don't respond to emails and Frazer is still not listed as a guest for NJ. This is all very disconcerting. But still...VEGAS, BABY!!!

Thank you! One of my cousins (he's so awesome) agreed to meet me in Vegas. I love him for this, especially because he's not a trekkie. But whatever, I'M GOING TO THE CON!!!!

Nope, never. Remember, I'm French, and although it probably got broadcast on TV at some point, there aren't many reruns of it (and anyway, I'm a bit young to have known the Trek fever or whatever you call it. I was born in 1989 :D) I intend to correct that at some point though. When I've watched a bit more classic Who, I think.

Ahhh. I'm sure it was shown in France, but the age thing...that would definitely make a difference. My younger cousins are just getting into it now and LOVING it. If you like classic Who I think the original series would be fun for you. Definitely.

Oh, that's very happy, at least. :D:D:D Yay!!! Definitely will hang out with you at the con, if you want. I'm going to be there Sunday for Spock, and I MIGHT do Thursday as well, since my friend princessy wants to see Brent Spiner, but she's not yet sure she wants to spend the money for it. But I will let you know.

Jumpcon hasn't written me back either, and neither has Frazer. :( But I will keep you posted if he does. T_T That is so fail.

That sounds great! Right now, my schedule appears to be Saturday Night at Quark's and Sunday at the con. I'm flying in Friday morning and taking the redeye home Sunday night. I AM VERY EXCITED!

As for Jumpcon, I just don't get what's happening. I think maybe after this weekend in Boston, it will be a little more clear if this whole thing has completely fallen apart.

I friggin live only less than 20 minutes from the Hilton, I could go. Believe me, it's so worth it, I went to Quark's Bar and with my red crewmember uniform too.
I cried when I heard the news it was closing down. Better spend my last visit there with fellow trekkies.
