Bitches can't hang with the streets.

I was reading Pajiba this morning and I was reminded of how very, very much I love the Ben Folds cover of "Bitches Ain't Shit". So, for those of you who haven't already seen this little bit of genius (and for those that have, it never gets old):

That is AMAZING. The piano is beautiful and enhances the thing so wonderfully in so many ways. Apropos, I need to go relisten to the Dynamite Hack cover of Boys in the Hood. (So much better than the original, because in it's original context it's just kinda generic rap.)

Right?! Beyond just the hilarious brilliance, it's a damn good song. I can't get it out of my head now.

Ooooo! Do you have a link or anything? I'd love to hear that.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=UMlPVpXtkJY If you like, I can upload. This song has been with me since childhood. XD I'm such a pathetic nineties product.

That's fabulous. I love the video. And thanks for the offer, but I don't want to put you out. I'm sure I can find it somewhere when I get home.

That's one of my favorites, but boy does my wife hate it. I love the music, but she hates the lyrics, so I don't play it when she's around.

No doubt. But I love the fact that he's highlighting how absolutely gross the lyrics are. It makes it awesome in a mocking, satirical way. (I've had to be really careful today, though, because I keep wanting to sing "bitches can't hang with the streets" and I know my coworkers would NOT have approved.)

I keep finding myself singing, "That's some real conversation for your ass."

I recognize the irony, but I think I'm going to retreat to the safety of Devo and the Ramones. Kids these days....
