Yes! I am such a sucker for these types of character-arcs and they've done such a brilliant job here. Last season he was so cold and arrogant so much of the time that I couldn't HELP but fall in love with him. I think I am always so weak for the morally-grey bastard characters for the very reason that they become so magnificent when they have nothing left to lose. Stronger, harder, so much more than they were.

I'm not kidding about the fanfic part. janissa11 and I would always joke about how much she loves to drop pianos on her characters and how that is like my favorite thing ever. Break them down and watch them try to build themselves back up. So damn good.
